Wrecking at ODC Theater on October 19


Originally developed by Susan Rethorst in 1995 in New York City, dance wrecking is an event where choreographers re-organize each other's dances in front of a live audience. Hosted by Christy Funsch, Artistic Director of Funsch Dance, and ODC Theater, this fifth San Francisco round of Wrecking features work by Deborah Karp Dance Projects, wrecked by Aura Fischbeck, Brian Thorstenson, and Abby Crain.  See details.

Noches de Baile In Lak'ech Dance Academy at MACLA on October 20


Dance, watch, learn and play with In Lak'ech Dance Academy and DJ Wonway Posibul! MACLA is an inclusive contemporary arts space grounded in the Chicano/Latino experience that incubates new visual, literary and performance art in order to engage people in civic dialogue and community transformation. Club MACLA hosts an evening of salsa and bachata dance lessons by Angélica Medina and Jahaira Fajardo. Performances by In Lak'ech Dance Academy Salsa and Bachata Teams; music provided by GRAMMY nominated DJ Wonway Posibul.  Learn more.
